If you head on over the wonderful BridgeToTheStars.net, you can check out a wealth of videos taken by the site's terrific proprietor, Will Hamilton, on a set visit to The Golden Compass, with footage of all sorts of things - behind-the-scenes players chatting up what the project meant to them, footage of costumes and production art from the actual filming... it's really getting me juiced for the film.
That image at top is the first I've seen of Nicole Kidman as Mrs. Coulter with her super-creepy Daemon... that thing made my insides shudder from the book; I hope he winds up just as creepy in the film.

Everything looks good though. The bears, the costumes... I hope this turns out to be a great movie! I wonder what its chances are at the Oscars, besides the technical awards. Costume design, score, and maybe the acting??
It is going to be good to see her play evil. I still think To Die For was her best
