Crossroads, Part 1

First off - Lee in a suit... mmmm....

How good was last night's Battlestar Galactica? Broke my frakkin' heart, it did. I know that the other half of this two-part season finale is out there and has been seen, but I'm doing my darndest to avoid those spoilers; at the same time, having to wait a whole week for the rest of the finale pains me.

Also, I choose to live in a world (an imaginary world, yes) where Michael Hogan and Mary McDonnell are Emmy winners for their incredible work on this incredible show. Both of their scenes last night on the stand (Roslin's whispered plea for Lee to not do what he was going to do is one of the saddest things I have ever seen; Tigh's inevitable breakdown and confession were horrible to watch) were astonishing.

And what to come? What's with the music Tigh and other characters are suddenly hearing? And is Tory totally freaking anyone else out as badly as she is me (loved Roslin's telling her to brush her damn hair)?

Urgh! Can't wait!

I have been frustrated, too, and it kept hitting me during last night's episode - oh yeah, Tigh's supposed to be sad and a drunk! Where has that been all season? Dualla has a spine, oh right! Little things that should've been focused on all season long (instead of, say, union issues, blah) that this episode dealt with in spades that reminded me who these characters are and why they're each so individually fascinating.

Agreed with the complete superiority of last night's BG episode, guys...at the end, I just felt crushed for all of them. Truly terrible. The acting is superb (as usual) and the storytelling quality reminded me of the first two seasons. And Jamie Bamber in a suit? That's my idea of heaven. ;-)
