What I Missed: A Linkstravaganza

.
There were certain events that occurred between December 23rd and January 1st that I'd be a nasty blogger to not comment upon at least in brief. So here's a run-through of what matters, says me!

--- Jake Gyllenhaal rescued burning babies and puppies from a 20-alarm blaze as his clothes burned off his manly frame and his body became damp with sweat and dirt. Or something like that.

--- Looks like Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford finally beat some sense into George Lucas and have gotten His Ineptness to sign off on an Indy 4 script. By now it seems inevitable that the Object d'Art that Indiana will be seeking for will be Grandma Moses' dentures.

--- Pal-o-mine Sean T. Collins got to talk to Lost show-runner Damon Lindelof, and ask him all sorts of nifty questions about why his show now sucks and how they might ruin it further. Okay, Sean's infinitely nicer than that; it's my own personal bitterness seeping in here.

--- There's talk of a Battlestar Galactica TV movie! To be shot this Summer! According to DH:

"While there is no story for the telefilm at present, plans are afoot to come up with a screenplay that doesn't step on existing continuity for the series, but utilizes most of its existing sets. There is also speculation the telefilm will somehow tie into the mythology for the Galactica spin-off series, Caprica, which has not been officially greenlit by SciFi Channel."

--- Nat at Film Experience began running through 2006 with his Worst Movies and Worst Performances, and then a look at the Posters and Trailers of the year.

--- Likewise, Gabriel at ModFab gave good run-down himself - see all the links here.

--- While Glenn at Stale Popcorn and I have very different taste in music (he likes to dancedancedance; I like to moon over whiny indie boys), he's as thorough as all get out in running down his Top Music of 2006 so color me impressed.

--- Being stuck out in the boonies, I missed last week's Horror Roundtable at The Horror Blog, where the question was to share your horror-related New Year's resolution. Lotsa good answers given. I think my answer would've been along the lines of making Eli Roth my sex-slave by 2008. I'm keepin' hope alive!
