I Heart Geeks

Am I the only person on Earth who finds themselves drawn into the TV show Beauty and the Geek every single season because I find myself terribly attracted to one of the geeks? I mean, it's really not that bad a show, in all honesty; it really does finagle some sort of skewed wisdom and sweetness out of the stereotypes it seems to so heartily embrace.

But once again, a geek has stolen my heart. Oh Scooter! I love you! I can just tell that once they do the makeover episode you're gonna be totally adorable underneath all that fuzz and those cinched shorts.

Yes, he is, as my boyfriend claims, one of the "faux-geeks" - that is, you can tell he's not a completely hopeless cause like some of the real geeks they chose and they chose him because he's totally making himself geekier then he is really and they'll have a real Cinderella transofrmation once they degeekify him. Same story with the guy who captured my fickle heart last season (whose name I of course can't remember - this is disposable infatuation, people); they barely had to do any work to him to make him the hotness. And judging by next week's HYSTERICAL preview, Scooter's already got the girls throwing themselves at him.

Oh Scooter. And listen to what he says on his bio page under Interests:

"I can recite around five digits of pi and I like strategy board games and Sci-Fi/Fantasy literature. My goals include land conservation and improving public understanding of political and corporate practices. I often get lost in maps and can stare at them for hours. And his nickname is from The Muppet Babies. The Muppet Babies! This is TRUE LOVE!

Keep in mind that I always choose the loser of the show to love, though. Scooter will not win. Indeed, the cuter ones usuallly leave pretty quickly.
