New Yorke

.

Been awhile since I've done a Radiohead post... the guys seem to be hard at work in the studio still; hopefully it won't be forever til they get the next album out. Here are a few new pics of the fine chaps via their blog, Dead Air Space:

Also, if you head over to the forums at ateaseweb, you can maybe find two new acoustic tracks of Thom Yorke singing unreleased Radiohead tracks that will supposedly be on said new Radiohead album. (if you can find a copy of the song called "Videotape" download it ASAP, it's gorgeous!)

The tracks were recorded for a show called From the Basement, a new series on British TV by Radiohead super-producer Nigel Goodrich, which will also include loads of other artists performing new versions of their songs as it goes forth. Says atease:

"Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich has turned his attention to TV. He's shooting a new series for British television called 'From the Basement,' with Thom Yorke performing live in the first episode.

Rolling Stone writes it will feature performances from an incredible line-up of musicians (and with no studio audience, albeit with some undisclosed visual accompaniment).

The first episode, which has already been shot, features the White Stripes, Thom Yorke, and Four Tet. The second, currently in production, will feature Beck and British artist Jamie Lidell. "I'm interested in the visual arts side of things, and somehow integrating that into what records have become," Godrich tells us, adding that "From the Basement" will be available as a video podcast in the coming weeks. "People don't buy albums so much because, as a medium, it's changing, so I'm just trying to figure out what it's changing into, and chasing after that."

The series will supposedly be available for download at iTunes this Monday.
