Me, I appreciate the film for its stylistic audacity, but outside of ogling Davis I don't much enjoy it. But it... resonates, and is certainly unforgettable once you've watched the entire thing.
It was a freshman-year-in-college, first-film-course, writing-a-paper-about-anal-sex-&-religious/political-submission, getting-an-A-with-crazy-good-comments kinda thing...
You know how it goes.
God you just made me miss college more than I have in years. Those were the days!
