Kathleen, Catherine, Me

.

The one and only Kathleen Turner sat down two seats away from the boyfriend and I at the showing of For Your Consideration we saw on Saturday. Her back was turned to us at first but I immediately recognized her; the boyfriend, however, only heard her distinctly husky voice and, seeing my bug-eyed reaction but not realizing why, promptly asked me if the person was a transexual.

No, but she did play one on Friends!

Anyway, I listened through the film for that signature throaty laugh, but never heard it; therefore I am assuming that I can tell the world that Kathleen Turner thought For Your Consideration sucked. Humorless man! I kid! I love you, Kathleen. I kept wanting to quote Romancing the Stone to her. "That was the end of Grogan... the man who killed my father, raped and murdered my sister, burned my ranch, shot my dog, and stole my Bible!"

For my part, I liked FYC but didn't love it; much the same reaction I had to A Mighty Wind. I will say this, though - Catherine O'Hara should get fuckin' nominated for this. She's incredible.
