I'll Be Home For Sufjan

So I've spotted this late, with Halloween being nothing but a blurry black hole in my subconscious now, but over at Asthmatic Kitty, Sufjan Stevens' label, Suffy posted a list of his Six Favorite Scary Movies.

Sufjan + Horror Movies = Insta-Orgasm.

Here are his choices (click on this link for his detailed reasons why):

1. Night of the Living Dead
2. Decasia
3. An Inconvenient Truth
4. Eraserhead
5. Hell House
6. Glen or Glenda?

Now, I am going to include what he says about Hell House, because the fact that he included it on his list and what he says about it FINALLY (yay!) clears any doubts I had about what sort of Christian Sufjan really is:

"A clear, concise, empathetic documentation of an evangelical church’s tireless undertaking in constructing a theatrical Haunted House—in which different rooms act as stage sets where church members play out life or death scenarios meant to scare unsuspecting viewers into repentance. It’s not exactly a horror film, of course. But it’s horrifying in that other kind of way, in which ordinary people begin to behave in extraordinary ways so that all logic is turned on its head and you begin to worry that we are very near the end of civilization."

Oh, that he considers the insane Fundamentalists of Hell House so terrifying makes my insides turn to a warm, happy goo! He's not one of them! Yay!

And whilst talking about Glen or Glenda?, Suffy toys with me some more, saying "To be fair, Ed Wood looks good in angora. Who doesn’t?" Damn you, Sufjan! Why are you so consistently lovable, and questionably gayish!?!?
