Back, Now With 100% More Nina

So, sorry about yesterday, I was in a bad place... something about a thick layer of fake gore coating your face that makes you wanna down 300 bourbons... or, it did me... ahem.

Anyhoo, I'm back! With a vengeance! Passed out immediately following Lost last night (Nooooo!!!! They murdered my favorite character!), so I'm feeling rested, rarin' to go.

But first, let me share with you my amazement, my wonder, from Tuesday evening, pre-drink-a-palooza - an image of the astonishing, the lovely Nina Persson, from that lil' Cardigans show I saw:

My friend who was with me was kind enough to load the pics she took onto a Flickr page here. I took pics with a crappy disposable camera; when I get those developed I'll share. ETA there are also pics from the show here and at Stereogum.

Can I just tell you: this show blew my mind. It was just one-half of the group, Nina with Peter on the guitar, but... trembling... so good. They played songs off of only their last two albums, a sentence in which "only" has no place since I adore those two albums like few others. They started the show - started! - with my very favorite song of theirs, "Feathers & Down", off of Long Gone Before Daylight, and every song that followed was just complete and total bliss. I was five feet directly in front of her! Our eyes met while she sang! I am a happy, happy boy.

I also learned Nina now lives here in NYC, which, just... chills. I am taking it to mean we'll get another show some day - Hear me, Nina! You have no excuse! I don't care if it's just you, missy! You are my love!

Seriously, she sounded like perfection. Amazing. Love.

Anyways, onwards and upwards, a wonderful morning to you all.
