After being offline for four days, I'm feeling a tad bit overwhelmed with information this morning... it's gonna take some adjustment to get into the groove again...
But seeing the first pictures of the terrific Imelda Staunton as the hateful villain Dolores Umbridge in the fifth Harry Potter adaptation is enough to warrant enough of at least a moment of lucidity.

I'm so glad he didn't turn out all fugly like most child stars (à la Macaulay and Haley Joel).
I'm very unhappy with Staunton's look here; in the book she's described as a repulsive "toad", and here she looks like the headmistress of an all-girls school. Not liking this at all.
Wow. Staunton is going to rock.
I like that she doesn't look quite as hideous (in these shots) as Rowling described her... I have no doubt that she'll turn hideous once her demeanor presents itself, but the pink & tea cozy feel she's got going on in these pics is a world of creepiness unto itself and will only make her sinister machinations all the more horrible, when tied up in a PeptoBismo bow.
