Toni Toni Toni

.

Nice interview with the amazing Toni Collette over at The Guardian.

Collette's been on my mind this month, having loved her turn in The Night Listener, which finally got me to seek out her film from a couple years back Japanese Story, in which she was just incredible (if you like her, see this movie!), and then I'm seeing her face all over the place in ads for Little Miss Sunshine (which I can't decide if I want to see or not... any thoughts?)... anyway, it's Collette Central these days, which is a wonderful place to be.

Collette on her Oscar nom for The Sixth Sense: "'Of course I wasn't disappointed when I didn't win,' she says, grinning. 'I didn't want to get up and speak in front of all those people. I was shitting myself!'"

I'm sorta glad that she didn't end up winning for The Sixth Sense. That leaves her an opportunity to nab that statue for what will surely be more impressive work in the future.

Toni is the most outrageously under-valued actress in the biz. Do people not understand that she should be in every movie? She's never less than mesmerizing in every role.

Couldn't agree more, dl. She should be in every damned movie. Even when she pops up for just a scene (like in The Hours) she's incredible.

1. So glad you saw and liked Japanese Story. I ranked that performance as the second greatest performance so far of the decade (just below Naomi Watts)

2. Little Miss Sunshine is better than The Night Listener so I think it's a must.

3. That quote is so Aussie. I love Toni something chronic.
