Today's Blasphemy

///
I can deal with a remake of Romero's Day of the Dead because it is the weakest of the original trilogy (yet I still love the thing anyway), but also because I enjoyed the Dawn of the Dead remake enough (Sarah Polley, come back!) when I never thought I would...

But this other news, that somebody's decided to remake Adventures In Babysitting ?!?!?!? IT'S TOO MUCH FOR ME TO BEAR.

I adore the original. It's why I secretly hold an undying love for Elisabeth Shue deep inside my heart of hearts. It's why whenever I hear the name Thor, I giggle uncontrollably picturing Vincent D'Onofrio with shaggy blonde locks. At one point in my life (it has been a couple of years since I watched the movie, I have to confess) I could've sung the entire "Babysitter's Blues." And Penelope Ann Miller will forever be awkward and blind Brenda to me, clutching onto that rat in the bus station.

I find this very upsetting.
