Get Well-er, Rog!

.
I've waxed faux-poetically about Roger Ebert's influence on me before; I may not always agree with the man's opinions *cough*Crash*cough*, but he and Gene Siskel were huge influences on The Young Me, and I still always check out his reviews every Friday, so I'm pig-in-slop happy to hear he's on the mend. I'm not ashamed (but then, I have no shame left to give) to admit that tears welled up in my eyes when I first heard he wasn't doing well after surgery.

From his website:

"Roger is improving each day and continues on his road to recovery,” says Roger’s wife, Chaz Ebert. “He's been through a lot and needs more time to recuperate. During his absence Roger will lend his thumbs to guest critics who will sit in the balcony with Richard Roeper to review movies. Roger will return to his seat in the balcony in the near future, and I ask that you continue to send healing thoughts his way.”

Roger Ebert added, “Don’t get too used to these guest co-hosts because I’ll be back in the balcony before you know it.”
