Can Brad Pitt Act?

///////

He's gonna try again. No matter. That's a really beautiful image.

It's from Babel, the next film from Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams), which also stars someone we know can act, Cate Blanchett, and someone who's imp-face irritates me the more I see of it, Gael Garcia Bernal. Not that imp-face irritability will keep me from seeing GGB in Michel Gondry's new film. Nothing comes between me and the man who made Eternal Sunshine!

But here... I honestly didn't like 21 Grams; I thought it was seriously overwrought. "Look - BIRDS! It's all so deep! And stuff! Now cry! We're all so miserable!" Gag.

But I really like that image of Brad. I'm really of the school that thinks yes, he can act, but he coasts an awful lot.

And here's Cate, being her always awesome self:

Seriously, just looking at her face makes me interested.

I think he can to an extent.

On the acting meter, 10 being Brando and 1 being Keanu. I'd give Brad Pitt a 3.

Dangerously close to Keanu.

21 grams was absolutely gut wrenching, the director nurtured the spectators' uneasy feelings into full depression stage, I could not stand the movie. It felt like some sort of sick masturbation technique, painful pleasure of sorts. Nasty...

Brad Pitt can't act. The best he ever acted was in the "Fight Club". No?
