Donnie Darko Vs. Gandalf the White

///////

Sir Ian McKellen recently broke out the claws about Jake G's quoted icky-poo feelings about kissing Mr. Ledger in Brokeback:

"SIR IAN MCKELLEN has criticised JAKE GYLLENHAAL for being apprehensive about kissing his BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN co-star HEATH LEDGER on screen. The openly gay THE LORD OF THE RINGS actor - who recently spoke out against Hollywood's old-fashioned views on sexuality - lambasted Gyllenhaal, 25, for failing to consider how his comments would be interpreted from a homosexual perspective. He says, "I got very upset when one of the actors said it was the most terrifying job he'd ever had because it involved him kissing another man. Imagine how rude that is. Suppose I'd said the most appalling thing I ever to do was kiss HELEN MIRREN!"

Poor Helen. What'd she do to get dragged into this?

Anyway, we all know Jake was playin'. He was just upset they didn't let him polish Heath's knob onscreen.

I agree with IAN MCKELLEN. Jake was terrified that playing a gay character in BBM might destroy his career. That comment was made before Jake knew that BBM was a hit.

I agree with McKellen too, Jake deserved to get bitchslapped for that comment. But his press before the movie was so schizo I'm willing to forgive it. Course, it'd take Jake a lot more than a little feigned (yes, I think it was a poorly plotted PR move, not him being honest) homophobia for the fangirls to make me dislike him... he'd probably have to slit his puppy's throat on Letterman, really.

But I am a lost cause.
