The Hills Have Eyes

........

I think I may actually be getting excited about the upcoming remake of The Hills Have Eyes. Wes Craven's original film was not that great; it had its moments of disturbing audacity but otherwise, shrug. And the remake's director, Alexandre Aja, made Haute Tension which was a really terrifying film until the godawful twist ending that infuriated me into hating the entire film. The word is good so far on screenings of the new Hills, and the trailer's interesting.

So... I'm excited. I'm easy like that.

And if Hills does turn out to be decent, then I'll really be excited for Aja's reported upcoming adaptation of Charles Burns' graphic novel Black Hole, which my friend Sean can't stop raving about, the screenplay supposedly to be written by none other than geek-maestro Neil Gaiman. I have a copy of Black Hole at home and it's next on my list for reading; so far, flipping through, it looks pretty damned impressive, I must say.
