I am really irritable about not being able to see Showtime's Master of Horror series. And now comes word that Asian gore-auteur Takashi Miike's hour-long segment, called "Imprint," was too much for the channel to handle and they won't even be showing it... which, well, just makes me salivate for it.
"Imprint" may go even further (than Miike's film Audition), and clearly represents something more than Showtime bargained for. "I think it's amazing, but it's even hard for me to watch," said Mick Garris, the creator and executive producer of the series. "It's definitely the most disturbing film I've ever seen."
The article goes on to say that the entire series WILL be released on DVD and Miike's segment WILL be included, so... now I'm just waiting for a date of release.
Funny enough, I was checking Amazon this morning, before even reading this story, to see if Showtime was releasing the series any time soon anyway. So... GET WITH IT, SHOWTIME. Damn.
