Twee Diddle Dee

Hmm. You'd think that, with all the free time I have this week with my boss out of town, I'd be posting up a storm, offering up tidals waves of my deepest, most sincere insights and torrential downpours o' bon mots... which has obviously not been the case.

What can I say to right this grievous wrong? How can I calm your shaken faith? I understand all you hold dear in this world has been shaken, so what am I to do?

...

Anyway, I saw The Decemberists last night in concert. They sounded great, and even though Colin Meloy has a very round head I find myself attracted to him.

I'm easy. Feign shock. But seriously, I'd do him just on account of his lovely lyrics. And it's not like he's a hideous monster or anything. Unlike the Linda Hunt Twins who accompanied him on stage, they were creepy and over-enthusiastic on their respective instruments.

We (my roommate and myself) left early, though, because we are old people who, in the roomie's case, were pained by seizures of hunger and, in my own case, needed a damned smoke. Oh well, we stayed for about half the show anyway, then crawled to the nearest Taco Bell like the decrepit dogs we are.

Tonight is Lost at the boyfriend's while trying to avoid switching over to Veronica Mars and ruining any surprises to be had once I watch it taped.

I am planning on having a verrrrrrrry lazy weekend, not spending any money, and working my goddamndest to finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell which I feel, at this point, as if I've been reading it for my entire life and will continue to read until the day I die. It's... long, ya see! But I don't give up because it's also damned good writing.
