Dark Is Swell

Things do seem to be happening with regards to the big-screen adaptation of Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Which is swell news. The boyfriend has a friend that works at New Line Cinema, so I'll be pestering for info, and who knows, maybe I'll know something someday. That, too, would be swell.

I don't know anything of Anand Tucker's work, but the trailer for Shopgirl is nice and, while I couldn't really get into the book, I think I may like it much more as a film. Steve Martin's always a pleasure.

I hope everyone had a swell weekend. Mine was. Swell, that is.
