The Giant Squid has at last been photographed!

The Mysterious Creatures of the Deep have always been a fascination for me. They're a link to prehistory, to dinosaurs, to the things that live without light or humanity... fascinating. Love the docs they show on the Discovery Channel or PBS, always hold my interest. That the Giant Squid has gone so long without being captured or even photographed while alive has always been one of those astonishing things, something you wonder if it will happen within your lifetime.

So to see a pic... it's cool. The one pictured is a 26-foot (!) squid photographed 3000-feet underwater. Wow.
