Me Time

My cousin's getting married this Saturday. So I've got to fly home for the weekend. I took Monday off to give myself just a smidge extra time to spend with me Mum. Just a smidge, mind you - most of my time, outside of the wedding, is going to be spent with my nose stuck deep in boxes upon boxes of crap from my childhood. My mother's demanding I do something with it.

What, I don't know. I imagine she wants me to chuck a bunch of it. And granted, there is a lot of crap - I know that one of the larger boxes is filled with nothing but TV Guides from the late 80's and early 90's... the bf was ridiculing me when I told him that, saying I had the pack-rat tendencies of a survivor of the Great Depression. But even he said that I need to scan through them for anything too good to be tossed. He's such a hypocrite.

So I'll probably spend all day Sunday doing that. Well, that, and downloading and burning music illegally. And watching bad cable TV. And playing with the dog. And having allergy attacks. That's what home is all about!

And I hate weddings. It will be nice to see scads of family members I haven't seen in four years, at my grandfather's funeral, but still, I hate weddings. Blah blah we unite in spectacular heterosexual bliss, blah. Tonight we stick it in and make babies, amen. Lord love a leper.

I never thought I'd see this cousin get hitched though. He's about five or six years older than myself, and until maybe five years ago I'd never heard word of him having the slightest bit of sexual relations. I figured he was queer like me, since none of this side of my family of which I speak is hearing anything about my sex life. Ever. Maybe should take this opportunity, at this blessed event, to come out to everyone. I can make a toast! "Congratulations to the happy couple here. And by the way, I'm a raging queer." Or something like that. I have time to think it out, get my verse down.

Sigh. Anyway, with the trip and the wedding, I won't be around for a couple days. Unless, mid-allergy attack at me Mum's I pop in. Who knows?!?!? The suspense is killing me!
