Geeked Out

Reading through Monty's description of having a panic attack at ComiCon in San Diego, I had a horrible flashback I just had to share.

I went to ComiCon maybe four years ago, got really wasted one night, and the next day got up super-early to attend one of the many, many lectures the whole convention is about. I don't even remember which one I was at. But I became extremely ill, had to run out of the hall mid-lecture to find the nearest bathroom, realized I wasn't going to find one in time so found the nearest trash can, and as on-lookers dressed as Boba Fett and Captain Kirk watched on I threw up my entire insides. Violent, loud retching, right in the middle of thousands of geeks. Good times, good times. I wish I could remember what the panel was for. It might've been the Lord of the Rings one. It wasn't you, Peter, I promise!

Anyway, besides that unfortunate incident, ComiCon was awesome and I'm pissed I didn't go this year. I had an invite, but Puerto Rico won out. Believe me, Meryl Streep had less tension choosing in Sophie's Choice. Okay, not really, the boyfriend and beaches always would've won. But I was especially upset about it when I read that the whole Serenity crew was going to be there. Oh Joss, one day you will be mine.
