As I type, I am downloading Paul Anka's new CD onto my iTunes, and I am positively giddy with the thought of it. Giddy! The dude covers "Eye of the Tiger", "Everybody Hurts", "Smells Like Teen Spirit"... the horror show just goes on and on.
But what I'm most excited about is his cover of "Black Hole Sun". It's a pretty obscure reference, but for those out there who've heard Sandra Bernhard's comedy show called I'm Still Here, Damn It, she does this impression of Liza Minnelli doing a cover of "Black Hole Sun" - the drunken Sturm und Drang! - that I imagine is going to be very similar to what I'll be hearing Mr. Anka do.
And I. Cannot. Wait!
I hear from my roommate that she'd heard this on the radio, so if everyone on Earth has already cackled at this, I apologize for being late to the party. I don't listen to the radio. Not since I had my iPod surgically grafted into my eardrums, that is.
