Everybody thought it was the Strand in that bookstore scene I posted from Once Bitten at the start of this week but no, that was some bookstore in Los Angeles, where that film was set. Six Degrees of Separation however is a New York movie through and through...

... and so yes, this here's the real deal. If you follow me on Twitter then you know I was re-watching this film for the hundred millionth time last night...

... inspired by Donald Sutherland's awesomeness in the final Hunger Games movie, I was. But I really can watch this movie over and over and over (and have) so it always surprises me when I see or hear something I'd never noticed before, and Flan's line up top -- "Five Sherlock Holmses" is something I don't think I've ever heard before.

I honestly think this movie is the first time I'd heard of the Strand, and lord knows how many hours of my life I've spent wandering its eight miles of books by now. Six Degrees is one of those movies that made New York "New York" to me and convinced me this was where I had to be. Sadly I'm still waiting to be a human extra in Cats...
