Fassy Made Her Do It

.
Or the lack of Fassy, that is. Have you all seen this crazy news story about how the director Lynne Ramsey just didn't show up to the set yesterday for the first day of shooting on Jane Got a Gun, that western we've been following starring Natalie Portman? You'll see at that link, the producer is PISSED, as he has every right to be, and is saying they're working on getting an immediate replacement for her. You may recall that Michael Fassbender left the production last week, supposedly because of a scheduling conflict. Joel Edgerton was taking over his part; Jude Law was also in the cast. Anyway Ramsey obviously had no interest in making the movie once she lost her Fassbender, and I can't say I blame her. To get that close to the sun, only to have it snatched away at the last moment? I'd burn the world down! Seriously though, I wonder what the hell happened.

LOL! Fassbender is indeed a dream star for any director at the moment, but Edgerton and Law aren't anything to begrudge. At the end of the day, Ramsay seems to be extremely selfish, and then again this will probably tank what little career she has. Sadly, this could have been her BIG break, considering that hardly anyone outside of cinephille internet knows who she is or what she's directed.
