I Am Link

.
--- Joe's Cup - Joe Manganiello might shake his sweet ass right into a Terrence Malick movie. That one called Knight of Cups. Perhaps Joe will play the cup. Seems like an immeasurably odd pairing anyway.I'm yet to be convinced he can act. Not that I've been forced to give a damn about that yet. He's been plenty giving with the assets he's got more than enough of to compensate.

--- Dark Future - I've never read any, I repeat any, books by William Gibson. I've been doing a lot of sci-fi that I've missed lately but I'm working my way up to him. I'm not entirely sure he'll be my cuppa, anyway. Anyway his book Neuromancer is being made into a movie by Cube and Splice director Vincento Natali, and BD reports that recent nudist Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg are circling it to star.

--- Z Man - Human giant Drew Goddard, writer of Buffy and director of The Cabin in the Woods, was recently hired to do some fixer-uppering on the script for the movie adaptation of the book World War Z, which stars Brad Pitt and details a zombie-pocalypse. The movie's supposedly been a mini-disaster unto itself, they haven't been able to come up with an ending. Collider got to interview him, mainly about Cabin which is out on DVD in September and ho my god I want to watch it again, and got him to clarify the World War Z stuff some.

--- Little Big Man - Nice to see Danny Devito get some love in Craig's "Take Three" series at The Film Experience; he's been seriously underrated over the years. I mean, I suppose he's terribly wealthy for being so underrated so we shouldn't feel too bad for him, but still. I love all the performances expounded upon therein.

--- Overlooked Again - We already knew that Stephen King is in the process if writing a sequel to The Shining called Doctor Sleep that focuses on a grown up Danny; last I'd heard that will be out next year. Well meanwhile apparently Warner Brothers, the studio behind Kubrick's film of that original story, is quietly working on their own prequel?

--- Bucket of Blood - STYD shares a quote from the brilliant actress Judy Greer about the, uh, actress Chloe Moretz, that she's co-starring with in the Carrie remake, and sigh, you killing me Judy. They're shooting the prom next week. Let's storm the set with tampons!

--- Ring Around The - I imagine Rosie Perez is tired of being called a firecracker but she's just such a firecracker, you know? A duck's a duck, even if it's got racist undertones. So anyway I'm pleased as punch that this spicy latina pepper (less racist?) got a role in Ridley Scott's next movie The Counselor with Michael Fassbender. (It's the one with him playing the drug-dealing lawyer.) We don't get to see her nearly as much as we want to. And maybe she'll get to hop on Fassy! Lucky goil.

--- PM Gal - Speaking of underrated (not to mention Stephen King again), Rachel Nichols is always so good, I can't understand why she doesn't get better work - she's just joined the cast of The Ten O'Clock People, that adaptation of a recent Stephen King short story we told you about awhile back, starring Justin Long.

--- And finally, celebration! Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master is coming out an entire month earlier! It'll be out on September 14th now; that's only six weeks or so away. Swoon.

Terrence Malick deals in beautiful imagery, so maybe it's not a totally odd fit. Sunrises and sprouting grass ain't got nothing on Joe's abs. Btw, have you seen Pascal Augier's "The Tall Man"? It went straight to DVD, right? (it's avaliable for download everywhere, so I guess it did).

OH MY GOD I had no idea, pony, thanks for the heads up, this totally slipped by me. I have tickets to see something tonight dammit I want to watch it right this second. Ugh, waiting! I suppose 24 hours won't kill me since until five seconds ago I thought I was waiting much longer. Oh shut up me, I WANT IT NOW.
