While I was off-blog yesterday another one of my New York Film Fest reviews went up and this one, this one, this one, my friends -- this might be my favorite of the fest? Click on over to The Film Experience to read my thoughts on Beginning, from brand new filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili (it's honestly insane that this is her first movie), which stars Ia Sukhitashvili as a preacher's wife who finds herself having second thoughts about the life she's found herself facing down. This movie's exactly what I'm hoping for when I plunge into a bunch of movies I know nothing about at film fests -- a terrific, mind-blowing surprise. Can't wait for everybody to see it!
