A Murder of Bots

I realized a couple of weeks ago that the time when I get right home from work and am feeling my most existentially aghast might be better spent catching up on some T.V. shows than the usual habit of staring into yonder abyss. And so that's how I caught up with the shows Murderbot as well as (finally) Squid Game -- well I'm only halfway into season two of the latter but I plan on binging it through this weekend to catch up. Anyway I'm enjoying both series (save the weird homophobia that Squid Game keeps mucking about with) so I was very happy to hear today's news that Murderbot has officially gotten a second season renewal. Anybody else watching Murderbot? S'good right?

I've read several of the books, but haven't seen the series. The books are great, but as I recall, very heavy on internal monologue. Curious how they're incorporating that into the series.

Love MURDERBOT. Alex is perfectly cast, you want someone for that role who is perfectly fluent in English but sounds like he's thinking in a different language. And has a dry, perverse sense of humor.

Murderbot is great. SecUnit and I share a need to be sarcastic.

I just subscribed to Apple+. Murderbot is the Skarsgard show, which I love. He is phenomenal. Waiting for the final episode. The Studio is uneven, but thought provoking if you love movies. And Shrinking may be my favorite series since Schitt's Creek. Love every single character. But my beloved Hacks. Too much good TV.

I loved Murderbot but thought the ending, which I just watched, was a let down. Skarsgard was terrific. Hope Season 2 makes up for it.

I am reading the books. The first season is the first book. I suppose next season will be book number 2.

I managed to find most of the episodes on Dailymotion.

I like the books better.

please think about changing the interface, it's so 1994 and doesn't make a pleasant reading experience (on the cell phone it's even worse). The previous one was much better. I really enjoy your posts and love of movies and handsomeness.

I assume you're talking about the mobile version, which is the only change I made and I did it by request. You don't have to look at it that way - if you scroll to the bottom of the first page of posts it will ask you if you want to switch to the desktop version and I recommend everyone do that. That's the old version we're all used to. I'm aware the mobile version looks like shit but there's nothing I can do to make it look better and some people want it that way because they say the type is larger and easier to read. I HATE IT but I feel as if I should have the option for people and it is easy enough to switch over to the old way. I don't know. It bugs me too!

People who've got an issue with the size of the typing, they should switch to Opera browser; it supports text wrapping and makes reading on mobile much much much easier.
