Also, as long as politics are up in our faces this morning -- hey, it's 9/11! As a person who watched the towers burn from the ground and spent that day waiting to find out if my friend who worked in them had survived (he did thankfully) I pretty much have a "shut the fuck up about 9/11" attitude at all times, but especially on anniversaries. My boyfriend had "Trying To Forget" buttons made a decade or so ago and that's deeply my vibe as far as 9/11 goes. I hate this day, I hate being forced to see pictures and videos of it for weeks on end, I hate listening to Republicans pretend they're patriotic and not fascist pigs (that last bit is evergreen). If Hasan Piker's bulge is what it takes to distract me from all of this bullshit so be it.

ReplyDeleteYeah I have been aware of who he is for a long time but I've never listened to him - he does make all of the right people upset though so I'm sure we agree on more than we disagree on. Any boogeyman for the Republicans is a friend of mine. Also I find it really funny that they were using THIS photo to try and embarrass him -- they are so deeply dumb.

ReplyDeleteI hate that Piker has to spend so much time defending and clarifying his remarks, when so many of them are taken out of context.
DeleteA recent (August) exposé shows the 42-second clip which had circulated and led to more than a dozen Democrats denouncing him as well as Abdul El-Sayed, once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The entire interview lasted about 15 minutes, and the clip is clearly strung together from many statements, totally out of context. How about one sentence comprising words spoken more than five minutes apart? Or the fact that he was reading comments from Black people posted on social media, and their words were edited so they could attributed to Piker.
Stop playing with yourself and play a little more with your internet machine and you can find clear-cut evidence that this is true, and most certainly not a one-time occurrence.
Piker is the only broadcaster I can trust. Even MS NOW is so damned afraid of anything not appearing to fit the category of Centrist (looking at you, Mika Brzezinski) that I can no longer listen to or trust its commentators.
