Apologies to the one commenter who keeps getting very angry at me for saying that Pillion is out in U.S. theaters this week because it's not out EVERYWHERE -- apologies because I am going to do it again! Pillion is out today, in SOME U.S. cities, some LUCKY U.S. cities, but I've already seen the movie like four times so I'm not keeping track anymore of where and when it's expanding. I assume it will eventually move on to smaller cities and then it will be on streaming and then we can all touch ourselves in unison to it -- a true happy ending. Anyway my NYFF review of the film from last fall can be read at Pajiba -- I love the movie and I am especially happy to see that A24 just dropped the vinyl of the film's score for pre-sale on their website, buy it here. Do we have a new hottest movie director? I think we got a contender. Anyway speaking of A24 selling physical media they announced this morning that Marty Supreme will be available on VOD this upcoming Tuesday, when you will also be able to pre-order the blu-ray or 4K disc from their website. Maybe wait til Tuesday to buy the Pillion score and the Marty disc together and save on shipping. There are two of the movies in my Top 10 of 2025! Heck they're in my Top 5. Good shit! I just picked up the book, Box Hill at Barnes & Noble and started reading it on the train home. The movie doesn’t open here in the Twin Cities until the end of the month. It’s on the top of my list, but so are Wuthering Heights and Dracula.

ReplyDelete„Pillion“ (original English version) is not set to open in my corner of the world until 27 March, but there is a special Valentine’s Day preview screening … during which I will be watching „Siegfried“, the first part of Fritz Lang’s 1924 epic „Die Nibelungen“ with live symphony orchestra playing the original score (you don’t get that sort of thing very often). And yes: „Krimhilds Rache“ will be screened the following evening.

Sweet Jesus is there no end to this? It’s already ruined the career of Denis Villenueve, who I loved with stuff like „Incendies“, „Polytechnique“ and „Prisoners“, Now it’s all just sand ...
Just yesterday I watched the film Pillion, and yes, in Russia you can watch it freely on the Internet and in Russian, no matter what they say in the West that everything is prohibited in our country, oops))) I liked the film, finally they made a film for gays and not for the usual public or for the festival. Usually gay people like to show in two images - this is either a victim (Brokeback Mountain), or a cheerful clown (Birdcage). And by the way, to see a Russian film about gay Veselchaki Весельчаки 2009, you should like it, a film about gays and trans people, a good film. Greetings from Russia))
