I haven't seen this since I was in college! I will have to look for it. Ricky Ian Gordon was going to do an opera based on the movie, and it was supposed to premiere at Minnesota Opera, but it still hasn't happened as far as I know.
I just watched this last night! I’m currently reading ‘The Gold-Rimmed Spectacles’ by Giorgio Bassani (who also wrote the novel this was based on). I’d love to see the film adaptation of Spectacles but I can’t find it anywhere :(
