I think it's The Pope of Greenwich Village. If that's right, though, shaun gets all the kudos because as soon as he said that looked like Mickey Rourke I remembered the aerobics scene in it.
Have you read Joe Queenan's "Mickey Rourke for a Day?" It's pretty rad.
