Yup it's The Children's Hour, good work Joel!
In one her books Maclaine said she hated the film and ultimately told Wyler it was a LIE. She hated the gay character kills herself.
Shirl's a good gal and of course she's right, but it was 1961 -- the fact that they were even talking about lesbians and had adorable Shirley Maclaine playing one was itself a MASSIVE deal, which can't be overlooked
