Naturally that was the first question that sprung to my mind upon hearing the news this morning that Bill Condon is going to direct a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. It can't just be any Tom Dick or Stanley. This actor must be perfect - a pure paragon! Hmmm.... oh I know!
Perfect! Okay kidding kidding - really though, who? The thing I'm trying to figure out is - how old is Gaston supposed to be? Is he older than Belle? And Belle's not a teenager either - she's in her 20s isn't she? Is Gaston much older than her? Would Bradley Cooper or Hugh Jackman be too old? Alright let's just get it out of the way - obviously I can't stop picturing Jake...
... in the part. He can sing! He's been wanting to do a musical for ages. He's not really as broad and barrel-chested as I picture Gaston, but every last inch of him is definitely covered in hair. That's something! (So much of something.) Or maybe...

If they go older I vote for Jean Dujardin. He's sexy, can sing pretty well and hell he's even French.

Chris Hemsworth is the only one that comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteHe's tall, broad, beefy, long-ish hair, (both Thor and the Huntsman had similar Medieval period costumes so - ) we know he looks great in tight pants, to me he'd be perfect!

ReplyDeleteI thought of Wolfman Joe but his body is TOO HAIRLESS. Same with Hemsworth. They both have the perfect shape, but Gaston CANNOT be hairless, I WILL FREAK OUT :)
