I'm a huge Richard Matheson fan, and I get a sick thrill out of the fact that nobody seems to be able to make a "proper" adaptation of I Am Legend---who'da thunk that such a straightforward novel (this is a compliment: it's like an extended Popular Mechanics article on "how to survive when the world goes vampire") would routinely confound filmmakers.

ReplyDeleteNobody's gotten that book right yet (although Vincent Price is pretty terrific in last Man on Earth).
