  1. Since Angels in America, I have had a soft spot in my heart for P.W.

  3. JD, it is Mr. Wilson you must yell at for even wearing the clothes in the first place. I can only work with what there is! And it's not to hard to imagine what's going on under them, the way they clong so... pornographically... to his perfect self.

    Secondly, you have a point.

  5. Joe Pitt is the reason I sort of hate Tony Kushner.

Louis leaves his boyfriend -- his sick and dying boyfriend, p.s. -- and he gets to be in the epilogue as if nothing happened and hey, great, we're all a happy family and is that Joe Pitt's mom? Hey there, Joe Pitt's mom, it's great to see you! But where's Joe Pitt?

Joe Pitt gets writtn off as this evil character, and he's not redeemed at the end, and he doesn't get to hang out by the angel in the park. The only consolation Joe Pitt gets is that he gets to be played by Patrick Wilson in the movie.

"But Joe is evil," you say. "He did terrible things for Roy Cohn." And yeah: he did. But Joe is also coming out of the closet -- a freaky, huge Mormon closet -- when we meet him, and I think if he had met someone else, someone not awful and evil and judgmental like stupid Louis, he would have been all right. But instead, he meets Louis, and Louis fucks him over because out of nowhere Louis gets a spine and a moral compass.

(And thus ends my LiveJournal rage against goddamned Tony Kushner. Patrick Wilson is dreamy.)
