I guess that I did a lot of posts yesterday that were placeholders for today -- there was the Charlie Cox thing I just shared and now here we have the trailer for Blue Film, which I posted the poster for and said then that we'd be getting this trailer today. And here we are. Full of trailer! Blue Film stars Boots actor Kieron Moore (seen, seen, and seen again for good measure above) as a cam-boy who finds himself spending the night with an older gentlemen (Reed Birney from House of Cards) when... well I only have a vague idea of where the movie goes and I'm keeping it that way, meaning that no, I have not watched thei trailer. I scanned through it for thirty seconds to make the above gif and then stopped. Because I don't wanna know! But here, if you do, said trailer:
Blue Film is out on May 8th. We will be watching. You?

I gotta watch Boots. And this movie.
ReplyDeleteHe is quite delicious in both Boots and Vampire Academy which is pap but also features Max Parker (drool) from Boots as well as a small appearance by Leo Woodall
ReplyDeleteI won’t give up anything, but I will say that it currently ranks 90% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, is said to be a star-making vehicle for one of the guys, and one critic describes it as “strong meat”.
ReplyDeleteSince “Pillion” just opened here (small country, Central Europe) to a sold-out house of mostly women in their 20s (!!!), it will take forever to get here, possibly only on DVD/Blu-ray through Amazon (which I use only when there are no other options; I am currently waiting for delivery of my Blu-ray of Marco Berger’s “Perro Perro”, and why is it that I never see Berger’s films discussed here?).
Anyway ... keep us informed. Gracias. Köszönöm. Takk.
Anon - did you leave a comment here recently that mentioned Berger? My memory is a firepit but I think somebody did or I at least saw his name somewhere and it reminded me that MB is a giant hole in my film-knowledge, in that I have seen NONE of his movies. Don't worry, whenever it was this realization struck me I thoroughly chastised myself and went about finding copies of a few, which I have sitting on my computer waiting for me to watch now. I plan on doing a binge -- I have tomorrow off and have no plans so maybe I'll do it tomorrow!
DeleteDear Jason: No, I can’t recall mentioning Berger here before. I have all of his films, even a few shorts from his student days. I find his 2013 “Hawaii” to be the most romantic film ever made. “Plan B” and “Un rubio” are just magnificent, as is his recent “Los amantes astronautas”. “Taekwando” is not much more than eye candy on a massive scale with a little romance; some will leave you a bit confused (“Mariposa” and “El cazador”); some will take more than one viewing to grasp the meaning or to realise that you were concentrating on the wrong character (“Ausente” and “Los agitadores”). The man is 48 and has written, produced, and directed a dozen feature films, most of which are highly-regarded. Is there another queer auteur out there?
DeleteStart with “Plan B”, then go to “Hawaii”. Then try to realise that the actor playing the arrogant, scruffy Bruno is the same actor playing the quiet, intellectual Eugenio; Manual Vignau is also in one of Berger’s shorts.
One of the things I love about Berger’s films is that he casts for talent and not body (unless it’s outrageously obvious). He finds the sexiness in every man. Nice.
Re: Pillion, the emperor has no clothes, empty sweetened up postcards from an emotional void.
