Today's Fanboy Delusion

 Today I'd rather be...

... in need of rescue.

Save me, David Corenswet! You're my only hope! My pants have fallen off and only you can do something about it! Pardon me my Superman fan fiction here -- Entertainment Weekly dropped their big Superman issue this week (the movie is out in exactly one month!) and every photo of David Corenswet, in and out (ahem) of costume, was like a slap upside the face with a fistful of kryptonite.

Sight unseen I hope this movie is good and successful because
I need to continue staring at David Corenswet for a very long time.

  1. The first time I saw a picture of David Corenswet several years ago my first thought was Superman.

  2. WHY does that look so...cheap?

  3. Corenswet sold me on the red trunks in his Fandango interview. They do his non-VPL no favors, but the hottie said it made Superman less threatening. As a fan of "The Boys," I think that's spot on. They need to lean in on Krypto and the hotness, like that second pic with the open shirt. And the marketing team seems to know this. Just a little too much James Gunn. Just let David and Nicky do their sexy magic.

Guys I had a chance to see a screen test for Superman and it is truly awful. Jimmy Olsen is horrible, and Krypto is all over the movie as Superman's sidekick.
James Gunn makes a Stan Lee style cameo but way too long, no beefcake at all.
The only good thing is Rachel Brosnahan, Sara Sampaio steals every scene she's in and Milly Alcock's cameo is amazing, Nicholas Hoult Lex is very cartoonish and so is Natan as Green Lantern. David doesn't act like Superman, it's like he's possessed by Chris Pratt's spirit.

It's a completely kid oriented movie, if you're an adult you'll be bored. The comedy doesn't land very well in most scenes.

I didn't like the Hawkgirl personality at all and it's very similar to the robot woman who works for Lex, they are practically the same character Mr. Terrific falls into the stereotypical black man type.
They completely wasted a great actor like Anthony Carrigan.
Lois Lane's wardrobe is horrendous, they should have changed her clothes with Teschmacher.

The only thing I liked was seeing Frank Grillo in his tight shirt and god bless him in those cargo pants.
