Alright I know some of you people are watching Ryan Murphy's Love Story series, detailing the tragic but deeply, deeply sexy romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette -- I haven't started it yet so tell me what you're thinking in the comments. I'm especially curious (because of course I am, JFK Jr. has a tag on this here website after all) about this fellow seen above's performance, since as incredibly handsome he clearly is I'm still not seeing John-John, at least visually, in the pictures I have seen from the show (as seen below). Oh but there's our boy Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein too -- I'm pretty excited to see that. But what are y'all thinking? I have seen mainly positive reviews so far!
Sarah Pidgeon takes acting honors in the series. She was so good in Stereophonic. Hope she gets some other good roles in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is surprisingly good in the show, as is Rebecca Pidgeon. He looks like JFK Jr from the neck down-very similar builds. Obv, facially, not as much, tho they get the hair right. I'm not sure what Nivola is doing, so I'll leave it at that. The show itself is pretty good. Murphy's production values go a long way. I enjoyed Naomi Watts take on Jackie, much as I enjoyed her Babe Paley. I'm not one to shit on Murphy. I enjoy his work, even when I think it's incomprehensible(Grotesquerie). No one is doing more for actors, writers, etc than he. I was a huge fan of the mini-series of yore (Lace, Poor Little Rich Girl) this scratches that itch. Like Emerald Fennell, he's not for everyone, but he is for me.

Deletethis actor does not resemble jfk jr in the face and his looks suffer in the comparison (whose wouldn't?) even if this show is somehow actually good, it's just beyond tacky, even for ryan murphy. naomi watts as jackie - really?
ReplyDeleteInteresting the "tacky" mention cause among the recent ouvre, this is perhaps the least tacky and better production from ryan murphy (Although obvious considering he's not writing or directing)
