Hell's Angel

Hey... remember movies? Remember when movies came out? Wasn't that wild? Well strap yourselves in, friends, because it turns out there's a movie coming out this week! I know! It's called Bloody Hell and I've actually talked about it a couple of times now -- I reviewed it right here when it screened as part of the Nightstream Festival in October, and then just a couple of weeks after they released its first trailer right here. Sure enough I spent some of that review and plenty of that trailer-talk talking about the film's testosterrific star Ben O'Toole, who turns in a banger of a charismatic performance as an ex-bank-robber who gets kidnapped by some maniacs the second he gets out of prison. Kidnapped...

... and summarily trussed-up half-naked for a full half the film's runtime, which you know added to the fun of it all. But the film is fun -- bonkers and violent and ridiculous in the best ways. And so I have no reservations in tell you to catch it when it hits this Thursday on demand and in theaters -- you can find all that info on the movie's website. (Okay I do have reservations about anybody going to a movie theater -- see it on demand.) And they just dropped a new red-band trailer, which you can watch over on YouTube; it's age-restricted so I can't share it directly here. But in exchange for making you click over how about as a treat after the jump I'll share with you some gifs of our man Ben flashing them rock-hard abdominals and et ceteras in that trailer...

I for one am not much in the mood for "violent" movies right now. I'd prefer, oh, intelligence, suspense, thrills, love, politics, pretty much anything else.

Bah humbug, I tend to find myself more inclined towards horror and violence in the scarier more violent periods -- they're just movies, and they exist to help us deal with those things, giving us a hint of catharsis that life otherwise denies
