Three Takes Tribeca

Much like Taffy's little car accident game, I need to play catch-up! (Not that he's ever not on my brain but last night's Camp-themed Met Gala has got John Waters on my brain more than even that.) Specifically I need to play catch-up with my Tribeca Film Festival reviews at The Film Experience, several of which went up over the weekend which I haven't linked to yet. I have more to come this week (even though the fest actually ended this weekend) but for now let's look at what we've got...

You should recognize Mark Webber from all sorts of places -- he was in Todd Solondz's film Storytelling and in Scott Pilgrim and in Dear Wendy and in Green Room and on and on. But besides his acting career he's directed five films, and his latest, a strange little kid's film called The Place of No Words starring Webber with his real-life wife Teresa Palmer and his son Bodhi, just premiered at Tribeca -- read my thoughts right here. It's lovely.

Lucky Grandma is a super entertaining romp starring Tsai Chin as the titular lady who takes Chinatown by storm under threat of being relocated to her son's suburban home -- read my review right here. And speaking of...

... entertaining movies about women and wads of cash Buffaloed, a comedy set in the Western New York town with Zoey Deutch (hey we were just talking about her) and Judy Greer, is a ton of fun -- here is my review of that. I'm kind of dying to watch this one a dozen times. Oh and did I mention that Jai Courtney's in it? Jai Courtney is in it. Here is a picture of him in character with Zoey...
