Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Inferno (1980)

Sara: Have you ever heard of the Three Sisters?
Carlo: You mean those black singers?
Sara: No, I'm talking about mythology.
Carlo: Hold on, if you're talking about spooks
and stuff, I don't believe in any of that.
Sara: How can you be so sure?
Carlo: I don't believe in such things, that's all,
and without any philosophical discussion.
Sara: Then what do you believe in?
Carlo: In whatever I can see and touch.

Damn straight, Carlo. Anyway a happy 78th birthday to the maestro the the grody gorgeous hallucination Dario Argento today! What with Luca Guadagnino's forthcoming remake of Suspiria on everybody's lips it's a big moment to be re-appreciating the original giallo god - I do wish we were getting a proper retrospective here in New York but I have a feeling that Metrograph has bailed on the one they had planned and then cancelled due to Dario's inability to make the trip.

What a shame! I have been really dying to see Inferno here on a big screen ever since realizing last August that I hadn't seen the film (having thought I had for years) until that very moment. Oh well I will just have to project the blu-ray at home! Speaking of Arrow just put out a gorgeous Special Edition of their Deep Red restoration that y'all oughta check out. The extras are special...
