Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Dominic: My friends call me Dominic.
James Bond: I'm sure they do.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean anyway? Is it an insult? It makes about as much sense as Halle Berry's infamous line in the first X-Men movie about a toad getting struck by lightning. Or for that matter it makes about as much sense as whatever the hell a "quantum of solace" is supposed to be. Are we sure whoever wrote the script for Quantum of Solace didn't accidentally translate the entire thing into the wingdings font and they just shot that? Anyway I apologize to Mathieu Amalric for wishing him a happy birthday in this manner but these questions must be asked.

The question we should be asking is "Can we run our fingers through that pelt on his chest?"

Over on thefilmexperience.net, a commenter explained how that X-Men line SHOULD have been delivered for it to make sense. You ask the first question seriously ("You know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?"), take a pause, then basically shrug your shoulders as in "meh" and casually say "same thing as happens to everyone else." Then fry the guy.

The commenter explained it better than I do here, but it was the first time I saw someone make sense out of that line. Too bad Berry didn't get how to say it.
