Zachary Quinto & James Franco Rubbing Scruff

.
Even though it's been on Netflix for awhile I still haven't sat down to watch I Am Micheal, the gay conversion therapy movie starring James Franco and Zachary Quinto yet - have any of you? The tepid reviews dulled my enthusiasm... as did the word that their on-screen three-way with Charlie Carver was apparently a dud. How do you make that be a dud? Anyway when I saw the new Out Magazine photo-shoot of James looking really very good the other week I thought maybe I should go back and give it a chance. Thoughts?

You'll excuse me while I go take a cold shower.

I saw "I am Michael" because I love James Franco, (he's my husband in my head). It wasn't as awesome and sexy a movie as "King Cobra" was, and it wasn't as interesting as "Interior. Leather Bar." was. And it is very forgettable except for Zachary Quinto's performance as the jilted boyfriend. If gay to str8 romance is your thing, then you will love it. If only because of it's formulaic opposite of the usual str8 guy finds gay boy themes depicted in gay porn. :)

Sorry I was a little high when I woke that last sentence.

The movie is so well intentioned that it's pretty easy to forgive its shortcomings. It's basically a story about a man who just simply doesn't want to be gay and while he's incredibly unhappy and feels his life has no purpose he's blaming it on being gay. The film tries to look at several sides of this condition in a relationship. I think the performances are all good, and it's rather like a Lifetime Movie for Women in that it takes an issue and builds a film around it. There are worse ways to lose an hour and a half.

I started watching but gave up after 30 minutes. Boring and Movie-of-the-Week feel.
