Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... sixteen going on seventeen.

Sieg heil, Rolf! If you follow me on Twitter (or on Tumblr for that matter) and happened to be on there last night then you saw the impossible happen - I live-tweeted the live Sound of Music event on NBC. Listen, they cheated - I changed past it and it was this scene with Rolf (played by the very, uh,  gifted Michael Campayno) running around in wonderfully tailored lederhosen and wasn't I just saying the other day that I wished there was lederhosen porn?

I didn't stand a chance. Believe it or not (I don't think many of you will have trouble believing it if you've read this site for awhile) I've never actually seen The Sound of Music, at least not all the way through (I had seen pieces), so this was my first exposure. Julie Andrews who? Kidding, kidding. But though I may have snarked last night (and mostly been bored to death) it was ballsy what everybody up there was doing, and I give them props. No one more than  Michael Campayno! This was his first credit - let's make him a star! Here's his Twitter and here's his Facebook. Get on it, minions. After the jump I'll give you some more fuel for your engines...

25 going on 26.

He needs to play the younger version of Jon Hamm in something other than my dreams.

I still haven't seen TSOM. And still have no desire to see it.

But it's permeated the culture so thoroughly that I had no difficulty understanding this delightful announcement:

Carrie's performance was so flat and boring I couldn't stand watching 3 full hours of that shit. However if I had known there was some hot ass coming up then maybe I would have stayed.

Liederhosen porn. Even a small mention of that brings on a case of church giggles in me I can not even tell you.

Couple o' things re: thighs, Lederhosen, and the worst idea NBC has ever had:
1) Lederhosen are never that tight, that's the whole point of Lederhosen. These are almost lewdly tailored. Nice to look at but as silly as everything else here.
2) If this has made you hot for "Lederhosen porn", watch the Storm Trooper orgy in Visconti's The Damned with the sound off and the SOM soundtrack playing...
3) Haven't we done enough to Austria? First Pres. Wilson forced the break up of Austria-Hungary and now this.
4) I'll bet segments of this will be playing with dance music layered over it in certain bars for years to come.
5) What's next? a musical version of "Battle of the Network Stars"?
