Pervert!
I was sent into a Gary Cooper obsess spiral earlier this afternoon when I read this several-week-old review of Ernst Lubitsch's pre-code threesome comedy Design For Living by Kim Morgan. It stars the Coop and Fredric March and Miriam Hopkins, and I have never seen this movie but I knew once I saw a couple of pictures I would be watching it, like tonight. I mean come on!
Who the hell does this woman think she is anyway? The nerve! If I'd have been a woman on the street in 1933 who saw this movie and then saw Miriam Hopkins walk by I would have walked right up to her and given her a talking to. Stealing all the men. Harumph! Also, jealousy, jealousy, so much jealousy.
So anyway I will watch this movie this weekend for sure,
and that's the end of my story. Now, eyes. Dear god so much eyes.
The movie is based on a Noel Coward play about his real-life polyamorous relationship with Alfred Lunt and Lynne Fontanne.
